Client Quotes

Talk it over has been a safe place for me.  I am grateful for staff, the programme and the time I have been given to come to terms with my loss.  Before I knew about talk it over, I had no idea that post abortion counselling existed, and I was so ashamed and guilt-ridden with my secret.  It has been extremely difficult to face the reality of my actions, others’ actions, and my loss, but I can now look at myself in light of everything that has happened.  I can now acknowledge my loss and not have to pretend.

‘The Journey’ has been a programme that has allowed me to think about things that I never allowed myself to think.  I also found that my counsellor was non-judgemental, and listened to me.  This was the first time I was able to be honest and truthful about my situation.  I am very grateful for talk it over, and I hope that many other women have the opportunity to finally let out their “secret” and find the same peace and freedom that I have found.

Free sessions, kind, non-judgemental staff, comfortable environment.  The opportunity to speak to someone outside my circle of family and friends was invaluable. The tools and exercises I worked through were helpful because they helped me to identify my feelings and move towards acceptance. I am very grateful for the time and support that was offered to me through this service.

After completing the post abortion programme ‘The Journey’, I’ve realised how crucial it is for women who have gone through abortions to have a safe place to talk and work through things.
