Losing a baby through miscarriage is a profound and deeply personal experience that can leave you feeling overwhelmed with grief. Whether your loss happened recently or years ago, the impact of this experience deserves to be acknowledged and honoured. Every feeling you have is valid.
Grief after miscarriage can touch every part of your life in ways that others might not understand. It cuts through all the hopes and dreams you had for your baby and isn’t something you can just ‘get over’. You might find yourself moving through waves of different emotions – from deep sadness to numbness, from anger to anxiety, or feeling a mixture of everything at once. Some days might feel impossibly heavy, while others might bring unexpected moments of peace. All of these responses are natural parts of your journey.
Some days you might feel isolated in your grief, especially when it seems like the world continues to move forward while you’re still processing your loss. You might question why this happened, feel a deep sense of emptiness, or struggle with day-to-day activities that once felt simple. Please know that whatever you’re feeling, you’re not alone, and you’re not wrong for feeling this way.
Grief after miscarriage isn’t something you need to “get over” or rush through. Your feelings matter, your baby matters, and your story matters. Whether you need immediate support or you’re reaching out about a loss from years ago, we’re here to listen and support you through this journey.
At Talk It Over Derby, we create a gentle, understanding space where you can share your story in your own time and way. Our Support Workers understand that talking about your loss can feel overwhelming, and we’re here to walk alongside you with care and compassion. You don’t need to carry this weight alone.
We offer different ways to support you through this time. For some, one or two sessions provide the space needed to acknowledge their loss and begin processing their grief. Others might benefit from ‘My Journey’, a sensitive one-to-one grief recovery programme that offers ongoing support and gentle guidance.
‘My Journey’ provides a safe space to explore your feelings, understand your grief, and find healthy ways to carry your experience. Through ongoing weekly sessions, we’ll move at your pace, honouring your story and supporting you as you navigate this path.
